In anticipation for warmer weather, I’ve been looking for a lighter jacket – both in color and in weight. While strolling through Nordstrom, I was immediately drawn to the soft neutral color of this BlankNYC jacket. It isn’t quite cream – it has a very slight blush tinge to it. I was sold when I touched the fabric – it’s a faux suede, and literally the softest item of clothing I’ve ever felt and owned in my life. The craftsmanship on this piece is incredibly refined and beautiful.
I’ve been looking to invest in a new watch since finishing graduate school, and definitely had a very specific idea of what I wanted. I was looking for a clean faceplate, silver toned, and most importantly, a band that was comprised of intricate link segments. I love the bands on the Michele and Cartier Panthere watches that look almost like basketweave – so detailed and feminine. The Rosefield Upper East Side watch has that exact band. The face is a lovely mother-of-pearl dial, very simple and classic.
With starting my new job soon, I’ve got workwear on my mind. One of the things I was looking for in new pants were neutral, yet unique colors. It’s easy to find pants in the standard black, navy, or gray, but when I saw the J. Crew Cameron pants in this lovely camel shade, I knew they would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. On me though, the Cameron pants were wider on the legs than I liked, so here, I’m sharing some quick tips on how I tailored them myself for a more fitted look.
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting up with some blogger friends for my first visit to the cute neighborhood of Georgetown. I connected with Jessica from Emily in the Middle through Instagram, and Carla is an amazing instructor at Pure Barre who is starting a wellness blog! We grabbed breakfast at Simit + Smith (it was ok, probably would not recommend if you aren’t a sandwich person), and then walked around snapping some style photos. The main “M” street is lined with stores, but the side streets have the cutest pastel colored houses. I loved hanging out with these ladies (and met another new friend Maddie, through Carla!) and am so thankful for the connections that this blogging community has already given me. Keep reading for the details on what I wore!
Hi darlings! Today I’m sharing the top new products that have made their way into my beauty collection these past few months. I’d say the theme of this set is elevated staples – there’s something about these products that sets them apart from other similar things I’ve tried, and I’ll share my thoughts below. Also, a lot of them just smell fantastic.
I’ve been doing barre for over a year now, and it’s the only workout that I love and consistently stick with. With barre, I think “today, I get to work out”, not “ugh, I have to work out.” Of course, cute outfits help, and I always find I have cleaner lines and higher heels when I like my outfit (or so I like to think). I mostly find my workout pieces from Forever21 or TJmaxx. Here are some items that I have really enjoyed incorporating into my barre wardrobe!
