Striped Skirt for Summer

I find the summer so distracting in terms of wardrobe because many of the items I’m drawn to, I can’t wear to work. For those precious warm evenings and weekends, this outfit is one of my favorites. It’s so good for when I don’t feel like wearing shorts, and is pretty, light and feminine.

skirt / cami (very similar) / bag (similar) / hat (exact style, darker color) / sandals (similar) / earrings (similar)

I was so drawn to this skirt because it was structured just enough to look a little more dressy (Actually, I think I would wear this to work with flats on days where I don’t have to be in the lab.) How cute is the asymmetrical front hem and the tie-waist detail? Seriously, Abercrombie is just crushing it lately with some of their summer pieces (like this maxi dress that I’m still loving). I paired it with a lightweight cami and white straw hat and found that combination to be so Nantucket chic! I also added my new favorite tassel earrings that I found at TJ Maxx. It’s funny, when the tassel earrings came out at first I wasn’t sure about them, but now I’m obsessed with the trend. Like a good bamboo bag, adding tasseled earrings can be such an easy way to “summer up” any outfit! And though not super trendy, I wore my well-loved cognac strappy sandals –  I’ve had them for years, I wore them all around Europe, and I still think they’re a more comfy and secure pair of sandals compared to the slide styles that are popular now.  I topped everything off with my nude bag. I’d wear this outfit for brunch, for dinner, for museum hopping, and would feel so summery and pretty in it! Thank you so much for reading! x
